Tym got the school to enable the floodlights so that we can resume our weekly thrashing of one-another. The team I was on (andrew, tym and myself) probably won, but it was a long, and difficult fight. nobody really sustained any serious injuries, but i do have a large bruise that i don't remember receiving and paul really got hard-core locomotive style on me at some point. it was breezy and cold with a little misting of rain at the beginning. it felt like a flawless hockey club. like it was the way it's supposed to go. except bryce left early and paul bounced the ball off the bars of the goal and subsequently sent it flying. i didn't make any cool goals, just a few unguarded up-close ones and some assists.

here are the teams and the pictures:

Team A:

me
andrew
tym

Team B:

paul
bryce
dave
(amanda after bryce left)

here are the usual quickly taken photographs:

Well, we just had another fine hockey club meet (well, last thursday). It will be Andrew's last hockey club for quite some time as he has to work thursday nights at the ole' lewisburg store out in the pretend town of Lewisburg (about 3 square blocks of secessionist corvallisites). It started off John, Trevorski, Andrew, David, Jive, Paul, Dave and Josh. David and John eventually left (David to who knows where and John to Northwest Royale at the Fox) and Tym showed up to fill in the gaps. That one woman who played goalie once or twice showed up too and then disappeared. The game went well (especially for my team -- Andrew, Paul, Me and John..I think) with Andrew scoring over a dozen goals and I got one or two. The game ended when I whacked the ball too hard as a joke and blew the goal apart (not hard to do) with my stick (I was close, sue me).

Everyone eventually left and all and I went over to Dave's house and chilled until I decided it was time to go to Bryce's house for his okanomiyaki (japanese pizza/omelette deal) feed. I had tons of fun there, being a total nerd, hanging out with friends and eating until I almost puked.

Everyone seems to be doing alright...Dave and Ursula are moving soon to the isle-de-east-coast suburbia in southwest corevalley. Tym & Marty have a kid on the way, Naomi just had hers (cute!!!). Ben & Sarah now live with Der Amandrew and Sarah's brother Gabe in the late-80s nouveau riche part du towne (le walnutte) in a wonderful townhouse on a cul-de-sac.

Bryce and Rachel seem right as rain (and some other analogies involving lagomorphs).

John enjoys the company of his girlfriend, and likewise, she enjoys his company. They also seem right as rain.

Little Paul is still one of the most compassionate, insightful people I know, even if he is a nicotine-powered rumor mill.

David is out and around, and I'd certainly like to chill with him some time to have more to write.

Josh Gates is still playing music and still paying only $100 a month in rent (*jealous!*).

I don't know too much about Jive currently, but he comes to hockey and kicks ass, so...

Sorry if I left anyone out, I didn't intend this to be a social circle update!:)

peace out homeskillets-

the narrator

Well, hockey club is over for another week. We've been playing at 6pm lately, to combat the diminishing daylight as winter approaches.

Anyhow, time to get all indignant.

There has been some drama lately between two very important members of hockey club (nay, founding members!). So much drama in fact, that our own Icing Champion, Lord of the 40-foot Hat Trick, The Russian-Canadian-Halfling-Who-Is-Not didn't show up to hockey club tonight. And we missed him. He did lose his hard disk recently and so he must reconstitute his legal mp3 collection, but still...

Missing hockey club is missing out on adventure, intrigue, battle scars and good times. The accumulation of static data shouldn't take a second seat to an instrinsically dynamic, never-will-this-happen-again event.

Well, maybe it should. This time we had Lil'Paul, Andrew, Trevor, John, Dave, and Gabe. Trevor and Andrew led the scoring with at least 6 points each. With everyone else at least getting a shot in, or four (paul!). Dave practiced his mad icing skills and made some shots all the way across the court. Trevor followed one of those up with an across-the-court goal as well, remarking, "how do you like them apples?" Andrew was tired due to helping out at Gabe's parents house earlier in the day, so he was not the locomotive he usually is. Also, Tym didn't show, so Trevor was less frightened of being squished by a bug (still had tired Drew); this probably contributed to his mad scoring (2x average). Gabe's wife was also there, taking in the game as a spectator. Nobody was really injured, I think, although I heard that Andrew almost got his nose broken during a pre-game soccer exhibition.
